Amorotto Trail 2019 – AUT – 80K
Out only for the two paths in front of the entrance to the Park Matilde; continue in the group holding the left along the asphalt ring around the park to get on Via Crispi, the main street through the village and leading up to the Lamola township where, turning left and then right, you take the first stretch of dirt road. The track continues slightly downhill to the hamlet of Montecchio where, after a short stretch of asphalt, the two paths for AUT straight ahead on the paved road crossing the SP36 (attention, follow the instructions of the security personnel for crossing): the end of the climb, take the marked trail to the church S.Donnino (attention to the steep initial descent). After 2 Km cross the old bridge over the river Tresinaro proceed 20m and turn left along the long beaten track that crosses the plain of S.Donnino. Arriving at the village named Ciabatta, run near the houses and proceed along the marked trail that runs along the river Tresinaro: the path is flat for about 1.5 Km. After this sudden turn slightly to the right: at this point the trail starts to climb along a path in the woods. Pay attention to some passages flanking cliffs on the left. Continue to the village of Po Costa: reaching the paved road turn left and proceed for about 400 meters. Before you reach the intersection with the SS63 turn right (DO NOT CROSS) and descend along a narrow dirt ladder (be careful in case of rain); pass under a large overpass and immediately turn left. Follow the path marked by crossing the Pignedolo township until the Frombolara. Arrived at the second last white house turn left and then take the downhill path that leads up to the Turn. Turn left and after a short stretch of paved road on the right you will find directions to Marola: follow the path that will lead to the ancient chestnut drying of the country where you will find the first life point (we are at 13 ° to 780 km above sea level). Continuing along the path you will come to the ancient Romanesque abbey from the churchyard of the church you will take the start of the charming Via Crucis. Follow the path marked by ups and downs until Branciglia. Cross the paved road (caution, follow the instructions of the security personnel for crossing) and go straight for 500 m. Near Monteferrara turn left into a visible path characterized by soft ups and downs that lead to fractions of Poncema, Valcava and Branciglia. At this point the path of the two paths will meet for AUT continuing downhill along the track which is divided in the midst of forests and Carpini Roverelle arrive in town Cerpiano where, turning right, you will take the paved road. Arrived at the intersection with SP98 cross (be careful, follow the instructions of the security personnel to cross) and keep the left side of the road doing the utmost attention to open traffic. After 100 meters, turn left and take the steep path: after about two km take a steep path on the left where you will find the ropes tied to trees to facilitate the climb. The effort will be rewarded by the splendid view that you will find on the top: you are facing the beautiful Mandra sanctuary. Here you can catch your breath at rest (24 ° KM – 551 above sea level). 1st gate – stop 12:00 (average 6km / h – 10’km) + check bib. after be regenerated continue along the track for about 1 km: at this point the routes are divided. AUT to go straight on and after about 800 m turn left. Continue through the villages of Romagnano and Valmezzana. Arrived near the SP7, cross (be careful, follow the instructions of the security personnel for crossing) and turn right. After a few meters turn left and take the path that will take you on top of the Mount of Valestra (the climb is very challenging and some stretches have bedrock that when it rains it gets very slippery). Once on the summit you will pass next to the cross (???? above sea level) to continue up to the oratory Santa Maria passing beside the famous Devil’s caves. Now the path continues downhill and after a stretch of single track with rocky bottom you will come to the oratory of San Michele. The rapid continuous descent to the base of the mountain, turn left and proceed on a slight slope to the center of Valestra the country where you will find the third refreshment (35th km – 686 above sea level). Leave the country and take the road that runs alongside the school. Continue and turn left following signs: Plotting beginning characterized by ups and downs through open meadows and woods. Once in Casteldaldo cross the paved road (caution, follow the instructions of the security personnel for crossing) and proceed in the direction of the church from where you take the path through the Dovecote fractions and Fola will take you to the foot of mountain. From here starts a steep and difficult climb of about 3km in mid it rejoins the path of SVT (attention to stretches of single track on slippery ground because of the steep slope). AUT to continue on the steep gravel road that will take you about 1 km to the beautiful Pieve di San Vitale where you will find a well-deserved rest (for 20km to us ??? km; From there you will take the trail on the ridge from which you can admire on the right the valley of the river Tresinaro and left the valley of the river Secchia (note which also exposed stretches of single track). Once the ridge you will find yourself in front of the spectacular scenery of the Castle of Carpinete, perched on Mount Antognano. At the foot of the climb that leads inside the walls you will have to cross the SP76 (attention, follow the instructions of the security staff to the crossing). Continuing along the cobblestone road you will enjoy the right vs the ancient castle and the Romanesque church. At this point the paths are divided again. AUT to continue on the steep gravel road that will take you about 1 km to the beautiful Pieve di San Vitale where you will find a well-deserved rest (AUT we are in 44th km – 803 above sea level). 2nd gate – stop 15:30 (average 5,8km / h -10’15”km) + check bib. From there you will take the trail on the ridge from which you can admire on the right the valley of the river Tresinaro and left the valley of the river Secchia (note which also exposed stretches of single track). Once the ridge you will find yourself in front of the spectacular scenery of the Castle of Carpinete, perched on Mount Antognano. On the left side of the sanctuary turn into a narrow path that will take you into the heart of Savognatica. Turn right: Now the path continues on carraie well batture, ups and downs and stretches of single track through the villages of Coliolla Tapognana and then get to Mill Villaprara. At this point, you are returned to share: continue along the ridge to the summit of Mount Fosola. When the road starts to descend keep right and near the first stone houses, turn sharply to the right and take the path that crosses the famous and picturesque chestnut Carpineti: start sliding path of dirt roads in the woods. Continue to the intersection with Matildica road, turn left and descend the steep descent that will take you into the center of Carpineti.
